Premier Smith welcomed another major vote of confidence in Alberta’s energy sector, with Wolf Midstream committing $500 million to expand its NGL North system. The project adds new processing capacity northwest of Fort McMurray and near Mariana Lake, a new cogeneration facility in Sturgeon County, and a bigger rail terminal to move product to market. Hospital and Surgical Health Services Minister Adriana LaGrange celebrated the arrival of robotic-assisted surgery at Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, where the da Vinci system has already completed more than 80 procedures since launching in May. Patients in central Alberta are getting specialized care closer to home, with seven robotic surgery systems now operating across the province. Read more.

After visiting Sweden, Denmark and France to study public systems with far shorter wait times, they found Alberta is copying what makes those systems work, rather than repeating the approach that has failed across Canada for 20 years. Premier Smith led Team Alberta to the first-ever Canada Investment Summit in Toronto, meeting more than 100 of the world’s largest investors and pitching 34 investment-ready projects across energy, critical minerals, agriculture, technology and aerospace. Education Minister Demetrios Nicolaides approved four new public charter school projects that will create or renovate more than 5,150 student spaces in Calgary, Edmonton and Medicine Hat. Charter schools are publicly funded and tuition-free, giving families real choice within the public system.
